Daddy's sweater!

David is off now for 4 days so that makes for more time to take pictures. I had gone to have a shower (yeah..boy do I miss the exersaucer days!) and Madi and David were playing in the living room. She had found his sweater and was trying to put it on. She is fascinated with her clothes and shoes right now. She will say "shoes" and drag them around with her and try to put them on... or "hat" and try to put it on her head... she is going to love shopping for clothes I am sure ( Auntie Beck and Auntie Laura will be so happy!) She say me poking my head around the corner for this pic!

This is my absolute favourite..
She was so excited! Posted by Picasa

The many faces of Madison

Lightswitch

David taught Madi how to turn the lights off and on in her room and in the hallway. It was fun to watch. As I was waiting to get a good shot she figured it out! She was just trying to push the knob in with her finger but than its like a light went off in her head ( no pun intended!) and she used her thumb and forefinger and up and down went that switch!! Its a good thing she isn't tall enough to do it by herself! Posted by Picasa

Help..i am stuck under the table!

David stayed home with Madison two days this week while I went into work for a few hours and this is what happens!!! Just kidding.... she is so active! She is the perfect height to stand up holding onto a chair but be all the way under the table! I love this shot.. David is so good at taking pictures.. I love the way that she is looking through the bars in the chair out at him! Posted by Picasa

Some new pics

Madi waking up after a nap. I moved her crib around so the one end is by the door and now when she is ready go get out of bed she pulls herself up and waits "patiently" till me come and get her!
"Where is your belly Madi?" Madison can show you her belly, teeth and toes now...what a smart cookie!
"Where are your teeth"
I think we have a little reader on our hands.. she loves to read and look at books..doesn't matter what it is.. Her newest favourite is a book that tells you about used cars that we bought when we were getting our first car...no pictures...all writing..but she loves it.. lugs it everywhere! Posted by Picasa

My sister Becky!

I was going through pictures and missing my sister Becky so I thought that I would make a collage of some of the ones that were the best!! She is probably going to hate me but hopefully she will get a chuckle out of it all the way over in Korea.. Most of these are from highschool......I was going to do a slideshow when she got married but lucky for her she asked someone else!! Oh well...it is all cause I miss her immensely... wish you were here... sniff sniff Posted by Picasa

Frozen in Yellowknife

This is from our first New Year's in Yellowknife. It was New Year's day and we had decided to go skating... it was a bad idea from the getgo!! My skates where old plastic ones and it was so cold out that they cracked.... the car alarm kept going off cause it was so cold....and we almost froze our faces off.. evident by the picture!!! Oh... they were good times! Posted by Picasa

Andrew Andrew Andrew

Here is a classic Andrew.... always the goof.. We play a game at christmas where you buy a cheap gift and then everyone choses and then fights over what they get.. its a good time.. but sometimes the gifts are questionable.. ( that is mostly the guys.. Andrew, Dad and David seem to always buy stuff for each other...even though thats not the point...but got to stick together eh boys!) This is from a few christmas' ago when Andrew was wearing/using some of the gifts!! Always a character! Posted by Picasa

Me and my Mama!

I found this picture when I was going through pictures ( trying to organize but got lost reminiscing and the pictures are all still in their respective shoeboxes!!...isn't that always the way!) I can't figure out why I even have this picture cause I am sure it came from Mom and Dad's house. It is a picture of me at about the same age Madi is now (13 1/2 months) My mom was pregnant with Becky and I look thrilled eh!! You can't really see head on my face...but boy does Madi look like me eh!! And isn't my mom beautiful!!! Posted by Picasa

Diagnosis!

So Madi and I visited the Dr. today to try and find out about the skin thing she is suffering from. Our family Dr. wasn't available so we saw someone else. It was actually the Dr. that induced me when I was 11 days overdue and I think that Madison remembered cause she was fine while the nurse was in the room but as soon as the Dr. came in.. she lots it and screamed everytime she came into the room!!!! She must have known this was the person who rudely made her come out of her warm home!! So after listening to the symptoms she made her diagnosis... Roseola... a common childhood virus. Starts with fever for a few days and then the rash. It was actually almost gone today ( As I knew it would be....isn't that always the way... you book the appointment and then its gone before the appointment!) but it was good to hear it wasn't a food allergy or anything..!!
sidenote to all our friends with babies... don't worry she isn't contagious!! So we can play in the nursery on sunday!

Just playing around

I have really developed an interest in photography lately and was reading up on what our camera can do... i was using Madi as a model.. but she wasn't too happy about that... her head was itchy and she wa tired.. but i think that pics look cool! What a sad little baby girl!
Not too impressed with lunch
Her head must be so itchy! Posted by Picasa

Some minor skin problems

This post is specifically for Grandma and Auntie Sheila.. one is a nurse.. the other works for a dermatologist! So don't be grossed out! Madison woke up this morning with some sort of rash and ezcema looking stuff on her skin. She is only scratching her head nothing else. I called the dr. and they can't get her in till Friday and we have no walk in clinic.. i could take her to the hospital but they have some sort of infectious outbreak going on and I don't really want to take Madi there for just a rash.. Any ideas??? I have gotten some cortisone cream and put a bit of that on.. seems to be helping.. This is the leg..
This is her tummy.. the back looks the same
And her forhead (spelling??)
if you click in the pics you can make them bigger! Posted by Picasa

Madison and her books

Madison loves to read... David says she is a "little aunt sarah"!!! We have books stashed around the house in different rooms so that as we got about the day and are in different rooms, she always has some to read. It is so cute to watch her when she doesn't know you are watching her. She will actually follow the words with her finger and talk, like she is actually reading! Her favourite book right now is "Olivia counts". I don't know if you have ever seen these books ( she got them from Auntie Lala ( aunt laura) and loves the Olivia books. Highly recommended!
David snuck in on her in her room and took this picture of her reading her book. She has a bin on the side of the chair that has all her books in it.
"Look daddy...i am reading"
Too cute.. our little reader! Posted by Picasa

Banana!

Madison has been eating solid adult food for about 3 months now.... she will not eat anything mashed.. it has to be cubed and she really hates it when you eat something different from her.. she will point at your plate and I am sure she is thinking.. "now, why do i have to eat this, when you get that?"... The other day I decided to give her a half of a banana to start to teach her to bite of bits to eat instead of me cubing everything.. i mean she has to learn sometime right!!! Made for a good photo op! She did get the hang of it.. she would take a bite and get so excited and clap and then pick up the banana and do it again... That is until the banana got lower than her fingers.... then she couldn't figure out how to take a bite without taking her fingers with it!! So she shoved the remainder in her mouth...... and.....
whala!!! A mouth full of banana!!! ( side note ... don't worry.. i dug out the banana and showed her how to take little bites.. i didn't let her choke on it!! ) Posted by Picasa

Playing with magnets

Some of you may know about my obsession with magnets.. i love to collect them, when people go on trips, that is what I want them to bring back for me... even if I have never been to the places they are going.. i am slowly getting quite the collection.. so if any of you want to pick me up one on your next trip.. go for it!! But as per the pictures below.. it seems as if my daughter has developed an obsession of her own towards magnets!! She will sit for 15-20 mins.. pulling the magnets off.. putting the magnets on!! There is a small piece of wall beside the fridge and sometimes she tries to stick the magnets to that and gets annoyed when they don't!! Its cute to watch!
I have even caught her completely standing up trying to reach a magnet... not the best floor for that.. a bit slippery in socks! Posted by Picasa

Cool new sign!

I found these letters at Walmart today and just had to have them for Madison's door!! I was going to spell out Madison but the "S,O,N" were all red and I thought that would look funny so we just went with "MADI". I love it!! They match the colors of her room!
This is how excited Madi is about her new sign on her door!! She tried to pull them off when I lifted her up to see them! Posted by Picasa
