A converstation wtih Madison

I am going through the 100's of pictures that we took while Mom and Dad Mobach were here and want to start posting them but am not feeling that great tonite so I am going to hold off but instead I will leave you with a fun little Madi Anecdote!

We were going to go to the pool in the afternoon but Madi and woken up on the "wrong side of the bed" and I was warning her that she need to behave or she would miss out on the pool.

Mama: "Madison, I am only going to take good little girls to the pool, so you need to change your attitude."
Madison: "Mama.. I need to change my attitude"
Mama: "Yes, Madison, you need to change your attitude"
Madison walks down the hall and says to David in passing...
"Daddy, I am going to go and change my attitude"

She walked into her room and closed the door and when she walked out naked she came up to me and said
"Mama, I changed my attitude"

I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time!

Santa Clause Parade

Last Saturday night we had the Santa Clause Parade in Yellowknife. The last couple of years they have had it at night which is really nice cause there are all sorts of lights and stuff.. but it can be REALLY cold!! It was so nice that Grandma and Grandpa were able to be in town to come with us. They were here last year when Lily was only a week old, so its become sort of a tradition!

another video of Lily

All of a sudden last night Lily started doing this "jumpy frog thingy" and we tried to get it as best as we could on video. I love at the end of the video how she almost falls over backward but then catches herself!! Too cute!

ps. Just click PAUSE on the Red Music player at the bottom of the page to mute the music so you can hear the video...

Cute Video... (MAKE SURE YOUR SOUND IS ON!)

Contest....

A blog I regularily follow is holding a contest that I just had to enter... and in doing that I had to post a link from my blog to hers. She is an amazing mother of 4...but wait... they are all under 3! God has blessed their lives with these children and especially had His hand on their last little boy. He had been diagnosed (in utero) with a heart disease that all the Dr.'s though for sure he would die from. About 3 weeks ago, he was born completely healed! What a miracle! TOBOGGANING......

We took Madi sledding today. We had picked up a cheap sled for her and she was super excited. I figured she would like it but only if someone was with her... BOY WAS I WRONG... she loved it. She giggled the whole way down the hill. And she went a lot of times! When she got back to the car the first thing she said was "can I go again tomorrow"!

Trudging up the hill for her first run!

Down she goes.....

She picked her sled right up and trudge back up that hill

You can't see cause of her hat/scarf but she is just giggling and smiling away!

WooHoo!!

This is what she looked like when she got back into the car after sledding.. all iced up and chilly!

"Oh Christmas Tree... oh Christmas Tree"

Madison started decorating the tree before we had even set it all up.... before we even had the lights on!

Check out the tippy toes.... she put all the high decorations on while standing on her toes!

The many faces of my girls....

Lily's Celebration

David is working today so we decided to have an early celebration and then later this weekend we are going to have some friends over to have a party. We had a good morning together, Madi was a bit confused as to why there wasn't more presents for her ( good thinking Nina in sending something for her to open... it kept her quiet for like 2 mins!) She ended up opening most of the presents for Lily anyway cause Lily lost interest after the first one!

Madison waiting for Lily to get up. I made her the "king hat" yesterday and she has only taken it off for a bath and to sleep!

I stayed up late decorating for my Bean! The streamers are from Holland. They are re-usable and I LOVE them!

Madi going into Lily's room to wake up the "Birthday Girl"!

Madison singing "Happy Birthday" to Lily!
(click on the picture bigger so you can see Lily's face.. it is precious)

The Birthday Girl!

Madison wanted her to try on the "king hat"!

Birthday hugs from Daddy

Madi "helping" Lily open her present from her!

I think this is her fav gift and Madison picked it out for her!

Nina (Nana) sent Madi some Dora stockings (longsocks!) and some Dora sunglasses! She loved them!

Proof that Beanie can stand!

Opening more presents!

Me and my girls ( please remember its early morning and I haven't showered yet!)

"Happy birthday to you"

Madison blew out the candle for Lily.. such a big helper!
She ate a bunch of icing and then gagged a bit.. but she got the idea!

( remember.. early morning.. no shower.. wearing Pj's!)

Yummy icing!

She didn't want to share with me!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY LILY

(Set to Post at 1:48 Am - right when Lily came into the world!)

Dear Lily
You are 1 !! I can't believe how fast this year has gone. You are such an amazing girl that the year has just flown by. You have brought such joy to our lives and we can't imagine our family without you. You came into our lives Nov. 7, 2007 at 1:48 like a little firecracker. You took 45 mins from start to finish to get here and were the tiniest little thing I have ever seen! Right from the getgo your were the sweetest baby. You never cried unless you were hungry and loved to snuggle ( which every mama loves). Although this year has been hard at times, with all the dr.'s appointments, we know that God has had his hands on your little body and made you better. You continue to amaze us in what you learn to do and your smile is infectious. I love how your face lights us when you see me. It is a joy to me your mother and I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Happy 1st Birthday Lily bean!
Love
Mama

Proof I might really be losing my mind!

Ok.. I just have to tell this story, but I need to preempt it by saying I might REALLY be losing my mind!

Last week we were going to go to the bank cause I had a bunch of checks to deposit ( my work isn't direct deposit so I have to deposit it myself) . I had 2 work checks to deposit and THOUGHT that I had put them both into my pocket but when I checked I could only find one check. I tore my house apart looking for the check ( or so i thought!) but couldn't find it anywhere! I finally figured I would just ask work to cancel the check and then reissue me another one. I grabbed my purse and we headed out the door. I put my hand into the purse to grab something and felt an envelope. Wondering what it was I pulled it out..... lo and behold... it was my work check STILL IN THE ENVELOPE..... I don't even have any clue why I thought that I had taken it out already. I could have sworn I took it out and folded it up and put it into my pocket.... so after that ordeal I figured since I had OBVIOUSLY ALREADY LOST MY MIND..... it couldn't possibly happen again....

Yeah.. well it did!!....
Yesterday as we were rushing out the door ( why once we have kids, are we ALWAYS rushing!! ) to take Lily to her ONE YEAR CHECKUP ( can you believe my Lily Bean is almost 1 yr old!! ) and I was trying to find my wallet.. I couldn't find it anywhere.. I figured since I wasn't driving then I didn't really need it and forgot all about it! Later on that night, I figured I had better do a better search and look for it. I knew that last place I had seen it was Mon. night when we went to Walmart. David had taken the girls out to the car while I paid, so I knew I had had it then and rememberd taking it out of the bag and having it in the front seat with me. I called David to check the car but he couldn't find it. I literally TORE the house apart looking for it. I called David in tears, and told him that I couldn't find it anywhere. I called the credit card/bank to cancel my cards and felt sick thinking about all the work that I would have to do to get all the things in my wallet replaced. I decided to have a drink and sit and relax and then with fresh eyes take one more look. I opened the door to the fridge and right away notice the grocery bag in the fridge... you guessed it... MY WALLET.... I have no idea how I forgot it was in the bag.. I think I am going to blame it on one of the little people I live with.. except neither of them are strong enough to open the fridge so.... I guess I REALLY AM LOSING MY MIND!!!

There's nothing quite like frozen bread!

Lily is able to eat cut up pieces of bread now, so I usually start her meal off with that, while I make whatever else she is eating. One day last week I had to thaw the loaf of bread before I did that. I took the piece out and left the rest on the counter to thaw. I turned around to find Madi on the coffee table with a piece of bread in her mouth.

"mama.. this bread is cold"
"well.. Madi its cause its frozen"
"mama.. this bread is hard"

Yet she continued to eat the whole piece!! What a little monkey!

Here's Lilybean eating her "thawed" bread!

I am going to toot my own horn...!

I had seen a really easy pattern on-line and decided that I would try and make a skirt for Madi. She LOVES being girly and wearing skirts but they tend to be expensive and so she doesn't have many. I figured that if I could make some for a couple of bucks I wouldn't care if she wore it every day till she literally wore it out! It took me a 1 1/2 hrs. last night ( but it was my first one, and I finished off all of the seams so they wouldn't fray) but I think it turned out great. We had gone to Walmart and she picked out the fabric. She is a girl after my own heart with the choice of red.. (its my fav color!). This morning when she woke up she was so excited about it..
"oh mama.. that is the most beautiful skirt i have never seen."
I am going to make a matching one for Lily tonite ( if my neck/back stop hurting) Somehow I threw it out and it is killing me ) and when I do I will post pics of them together!
