Bumbo

Friends of ours lent us their Bumbo chair. Ihad seen them before but had never bothered to buy one cause they are expensive but borrowing one I am all for! Lily bean loves it! She can sit and play with her toys and see what is going on and she has discovered her toes! I don't think she realizes yet that they are attached to her!!! Too cute to watch

SIDENOTE: Lily laughed tonite for the first time. We don't have a video camera so I can't take a video but I will try and borrow one cause its so cute!!!

Grandma's visit

At the end of April Grandma ( David's mom ) came to visit us for 2 weeks. We loved having her here. She hadn't seen either girls since Lilybean was born so she noticed a big change! We had such a good time and fit alot into those 2 weeks... if you are reading mom... come back anytime!

Grandma and Grandpa ( Patah and Greenpa as Madi calls them) went to Israel and brought back the cutest shirt for Madi. It has a bunch of animals on it with their names in arabic...too cute!

I think that Madi was talking to Grandpa!

Grandma with her Lily bean... and of course the tongue sticking out!

Oma ( David's grandma) sent Madi some playdo.... so much fun!

Grandma's visit continued.........

Grandma brought Madi some My Little Pony memory cards. She doesn't quite get the concept of memorizing where they are, but can find all the pairs with them turned up.... pretty smart eh!
Grandma took Madi across the street to the park a couple of times. Yes people... this is the end of April and she is in a winter coat and boots... gotta love the north!
Grandma brought us up our new stroller. It is a double, Lily rides in the front ( in her carseat for now) and Madi rides/stand/sticks her feet in the basket in the back! It is so great.. very light and easy to move and highly recommended if you have to kids. Its called a Joovy Caboose and we love it! Grandma and her granddaughters!
We unexpectadely bought a new car when Mom was here... it was a jam packed 2 weeks!

An oldy but a goody!

I was organizing pics and videos today and came across this one from christmas. Madi stayed with Nana and Papa while David, Lily and I went down to the coast. I don't think she even realized we were gone till we came back!!! She and Nana made cookies one day and got this cute video of them decorating them with sprinkles!

Ms. Lily

We had the ultrasound today and as far as we know all went well. The tech was very good and gentle with our Lily and Lily was very still and content the whole time. We will know more when we see our Dr. on wednesday. It really sucks that they can't tell you anything at the appt.
Oh well.. God has it all in his hands and we need to just trust him!

Ultrasound appt

Ms. Lily has an ultrasound appt today ( 28th) at 3:15 pm. We are not expecting to hear any results today but would ask for your prayers for her to be calm during the tests and for the tech performing the test, that God would guide their hands to see what needs to be seen and for us as parents to have calm hearts as we wait to hear the results. We have an appt with our dr next wednesday ( June 4) for the results, so we will know more then.
Thanks

Lily's Dr. appt.

We just got back from Lily's pediatrician appointment. He did a bunch of tests to test her neurological development and felt that there is no evidence other than the size of her head to indicate problems with her head. He is still sending her for the ultrasound, but the techs here aren't comfortable with doing the test so he asked a specialist who is in town next week if she could fit Lily into her schedule. So we are waiting for a date but at least we don't have to go to Edmonton for the test, which is what would have happened since no one here would do the test. So as far as the head circumfrence we are still waiting but feel a lot better knowing that while we wait to find out there are no other issues coming up!
On another note, Lily had had some brusising that had shown up really easily in the last couple of months and we had taken her for some routine blood tests and nothing had shown up but the pediatrician said he was more concerned with the bruising than her head so he called a blood doctor in Edmonton for some other tests to do. So we took her to have her blood taken and will just have to wait to see what turns out.
So from one thing to the next with little Lily bean..... she keeps us on ours toes!
Keep on praying please

PRAYER REQUEST

We took Lily for her 6th month checkup yesterday and got some sort of bad news. Incase you don't already know, they have a chart that the drs chart the progress your baby makes on. When Lily was born she was in the 50th percentile for everything ( height, weight and head circumfrence) At her 4 month checkup everything was still on the 50th ( they want to make sure that things don't all of a sudden jump or go down) But yesterday she was still on the 50th for height and weight but had jumped to the 95th for head circumfrence. Her dr. is worried that for some reason her body isn't draining her brain fluid properly and that it is collecting and making her head grow bigger. They are sending her for an ultrasound sometime next week and then we will know better. At this point we don't know much other than it is something that will have to be taken care of quickly if it is indeed a problem with draining the fluid because as her soft spots close the pressure can cause developmental problems so they want to do it quickly as possible. She has been moved to the front of the list to see the Pediatrician and we won't know much more till that happens. It is hard to know what to pray for cause we don't really know what if anything is wrong. But we would ask for prayer just the same... there are a lot of logistical things that will have to happen if indeed she needs surgery as it would have to happen in Edmonton... but again.. we don't know if that is indeed what will happen yet.. We will keep you posted when we know more.
Thankyou for your prayers.

My day.....

In the last 24 hrs I have.....

-made up 10 bottles
-changed appox. 12 diapers
-given 2 baths to the same child because of two of the above mentioned diaper changes
-washed out 2 sets of clothes (from the same child) also cause of the above mentioned diaper changes
-been to the grocery store 2 times
-gotten soaking wet from another bath, where my eldest decided it would be fun to try and get as much water out of the tub as there was in!
-talked to my mom 4 times
-washed 4 loads of laundry
-ran the dishwasher twice
-spend approx 1 hr putting my eldest back and forth into time out cause of her "independent" spirit
-slept 7hrs

And they say "stay at home" moms don't work!!!!!

Some Perspective

Today was a hard day.... let me just say this... it took us an hour to eat breakfast cause of about 5 trips to the time out corner. I was seriously tempted to have David call in sick and stay home and help me with my girls!!! But then I read this, a letter written by someone I don't even know to her daughter, who she only got to spend 2. 5 hours with before Jesus took her home. What an amazing women this mother is and as I watch my eldest daughter slowly learn to spread her wings and become independent I will think back on this little girl and thank Jesus for every precious minute I have with my girls... even if they are minutes where I am pulling out my hair and counting down the minutes till bedtime.

Madi's "big girl" blanket

When we had Lily we decided that we were going to wait a bit to take Madi out of her crib and give her a "big girl" bed. We had the craddle that Opa (David's grandpa) built when David's dad was born so we did have a place to put Lily!! And we knew that Madi would be sleeping in a double bed at mom's and dad's in Revelstoke so we weren't worried about rushing it!
I decided that to "help" with the transition from crib to bed that I would make a big deal about making her a new room. I had seen a blog with directions for a rag quilt and figured that it would be a fun project for me to do for Madi. I really played up this new big girl blanket and even let her help me pick out the material. It took me awhile cause I wanted to make it big enough for a twin bed (she is on a double though.. we had the mattress so why buy another be eh!) but I think it turned out pretty good

Madi "trying" it out before I was done sewing it!

At home in her "big girl" room!!

Gas Prices

This sign is proudly displayed at a gas station in town... got quite a laugh from us!!!!

EUREKA!!!!

A couple weeks back David had to go to Eureka,NU for work. They were flying some equipment for a company that is doing some scientific researtch up there and had to travel with the plane. He was gone for about 6 days and ended up spending most of the time at the weather station cause the company wasn't actually set up for them to fly the equipment yet.
The weather people send off this weather balloons twice a day to collect data and David and the pilots got to watch and even let some of them go!
David by the "customs" office!! They had freezer doors on all the outside doors because they keep the heat in better!!!

The last 2 pictures are of some of the sites while they were flying home. David saw a lot of glaciers and really cool pressure cracks in the snow!

Our lily

My child the artist.....

I know that I am probably a bit biased but come on ....isn't Madison talented!!! She got the MagnaDoodle from Aunt Becky and Uncle Sam for her birthday and LOVES it!!! She will spend literally hours a day doodling on it. Her latest feat is taking a DVD cover ( usually Veggietales ) and holding it in one hand ( sorry Mama Eby...looks like she is right handed!) while "drawing" what she sees in the other. It might look like doodles to you but in the middle is a "Larry the cucumber" with eyes and everything and she also drew "Bob the tomato"....what a talent!

While David was in Eureka ( more to come on that!) I got a few things to help keep Madi entertained, since in the bitter cold its not the easiest to take 2 children out! I picked up some finger paints and a really big pad of paper!! She had so much fun
Very first finger painting attempt. She was a little unsure but then she got into making the hand prints!!

She loves coloring of any kind and the more colors on a page the better!!! She usually wants one of us to color the other page and she will stop and look over at our page and say things like
"oohhh...mama..that gorgeous"
"OOhhh... thats amazing"
" Good job daddy"
"That delicious" (not sure about this.. i think she likes the way it sounds!)
All in all she is a talented little artist!
